Following the directives of the Executive Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Youth Union as per document number 79-CV/ĐTNB-VP dated February 20, 2024, regarding the organization of the Youth Union congresses for the 2024-2027 term, and with the approval of the Party Committee of the Trade Remedies Authority (TRA), the Youth Union of the TRA held its congress on April 8, 2024. The purpose of the congress was to evaluate the activities and youth movements of the 2022-2024 term and to outline the objectives and tasks for the 2024-2027 term.
The congress was attended by Comrade Trinh Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and Director General of the TRA; Comrade Pham Khac Huy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc Youth Union and Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Youth Union.
The congress was also honored by the presence of representatives from the Party Committee of the TRA; leaders of the TRA Trade Union; leaders of various units under the TRA; representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade Youth Union’s Standing Committee; and representatives from peer Youth Unions such as the National Competition Commission Youth Union, Export-Import Department Youth Union, Local Industry Department Youth Union, European-American Market Department Youth Union, Industry and Trade Magazine Youth Union, as well as all Youth Union members of the TRA.
During the 2022-2024 term, despite numerous challenges, the Youth Union of the TRA achieved commendable results in its activities and youth movements, thanks to the support from the Party Committee, TRA leadership, unit leaders, the Executive Committee of the Ministry’s Youth Union, and the close coordination with the TRA Trade Union and peer Youth Unions, as well as the support from Youth Union members and TRA staff.
In terms of educational work, the Youth Union actively propagated and encouraged each member to enhance their awareness and strictly adhere to the Party’s policies and the state’s laws. Regular activities were organized to help members gain knowledge, appreciate, preserve, and promote historical and traditional values.
Regarding volunteer activities, under the trust of the Executive Committee of the Ministry’s Youth Union, the TRA Youth Union successfully organized two major programs during the 2022-2024 term: (1) The “Back to the Roots” program in July 2022 in Son La Province, which included building charity houses and giving gifts to impoverished households in Thuan Chau District; (2) The “Youth of Industry and Trade Warm the Northwestern Highlands” program in March 2023, which included paving 3km of roads for residents in Che Tao Commune, Mu Cang Chai District, Yen Bai Province, and donating money and gifts to local students. Recently, the Youth Union also organized the “From Heart to Ha Giang” program, donating 50 gifts to children at the Ban Ngo Semi-boarding School in Xin Man District, Ha Giang Province.
In cultural, artistic, and sports activities, the TRA Youth Union consistently encouraged and created opportunities for members to showcase their talents and fostered a competitive spirit through various contests and events.
Alongside these activities, enhancing professional skills and expertise for members was a major focus. Thanks to the support of TRA leadership and unit leaders, many members participated deeply in professional activities and research, had opportunities to present at conferences, and contributed to disseminating trade remedies knowledge to government agencies and the business community. In 2024, the Youth Union was assigned to contribute to a Ministry-level scientific and technological project.
Party-building work was especially emphasized, with the Youth Union introducing many outstanding members to attend Party awareness courses, become Party members, and transfer their Party membership.
In his directive speech at the congress, Party Secretary and Director General of the TRA Trinh Anh Tuan praised the achievements of the Youth Union during the past term and affirmed continued support for its activities in the upcoming term.
In the enthusiastic atmosphere of the congress, Pham Khac Huy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc Youth Union and Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Youth Union, recognized the accomplishments of the TRA Youth Union, especially in key task areas. He expressed hope that the Youth Union would continue to maintain and promote the creative spirit of youth, serving as a shining example in the Ministry’s youth movements.
The congress successfully elected the Executive Committee of the TRA Youth Union for the 2024-2027 term, consisting of five members: Nguyen Duc Dung, Vu Dieu Linh, Huynh Quoc Hung (reelected members), and Nguyen Tuan Anh and Ha Van Hieu (new faces recognized for their contributions to youth work and movements). This successful election signifies continuity, creativity, and youthful vigor.
On behalf of the new Executive Committee, Nguyen Duc Dung expressed gratitude to the entire congress, pledging unity, proactiveness, and creativity to further develop the Youth Union.
The Youth Union Congress of the Trade Remedies Authority for the 2024-2027 term represented the aspirations and determination of all members to build a stronger TRA. The congress generated positive momentum, calling on all members to confidently advance under the glorious flag of the Party and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, resolutely overcoming challenges and striving to successfully implement the congress resolutions.
