What is COP?
Conformity of Production (COP) is the ability to produce a Vehicle or Component that is exactly the same as the 1st, 2nd or 20th etc that has been tested and has met the relevant Type Approval requirements.
COP is a key part of the Automotive Vehicle Type Approval process; in simple terms it is the requirement to have the correct Quality processes and procedures in place to ensure that a company is able to Manufacture a Vehicle or Type Approved Component to the required specification.

Prove your vehicles or vehicle components conform to their type approval documentation by achieving Conformity of Production (COP) certification.
Vehicle and vehicle component manufacturers are obliged to prove their products match the specification, performance and marking requirements set out in the original type approval documentation. This is called Conformity of Production (COP) certification and it is a key part of the homologation process.
We can carry out COP certifications for all manufacturers of vehicles and vehicle components. We can carry out these tests at our own or third-party laboratories, or at your own facilities if preferred.
As well as testing on the production line, it is necessary to re-test throughout the lifetime of each vehicle type. These re-tests can be performed by the manufacturer or by outsourcing to companies such as ATIC.
We offer COP testing services to vehicle and vehicle component manufacturers worldwide. We have the experience and expertise to help you meet all the required standards, whether you produce whole vehicles or their component parts.
